Outstanding Characteristics: Large broadleaf oak with red to burgundy fall color. Slower in growth than the other oaks we grow, but better fall color. Tolerant of alkaline soils.

Notes: Shumard has a coarse root system shich can make it more difficult to transplant, we root prune annually to minimize this problem. However, this is not an Oak to summer dig.
