Outstanding Characteristics:  Small, multi-tree with prolific flowers after foliage in spring, flowers later than Cornus florida. Large spiny red fruit in fall/winter, maroon to dark red fall color, exfoliating bark with age. Good grower with cultivar consistency.

Notes:  Susceptible to borers, treat with systemic pesticide the first year after transplanting. Avoid poorly drained sites. Good residential scale and site tree.
